PET REQUESTS PROGRAM

The volunteers of OSPA are frequently asked if we have a specific breed and finding the right pet can be a difficult process. Owning a pet is a responsibility and should not be taken lightly. Keep in mind that your “wish list” needs to be realistic.

When listing the age of a dog, here is the rule of thumb:

	2-4 months (like a toddler)
	4-12 months (like child / teen) (can be longer and this is breed dependant)
	1-3 years (young adult)
	3+ years (sensible adults)

When completing the form here is the size guideline for dogs:

	P = 5-10 pounds
	S = 10-25 pounds
	M = 25-50 pounds
	L = 50-75 pounds
	XL = 75 plus

Remember to consider all breeds shed differently and have different types of dog hair (short, curly etc.) so be sure to do some research if you are a first time dog owner or are looking for a new breed of dog.

Complete the questionnaire and send it by email or regular mail. We will keep your information on file for a period of six months but if in the interim you acquire a pet from another source, please let us know.
